On Nov. 26, 2013, at 11:43 a.m., Public Safety documented damage to property on the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported an intoxicated non-St. Thomas suspect, who damaged a glass door pane at a residence on the block, was cited.

On Nov. 28, 2013, at 4:12 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a water leak in Ireland Residence Hall. Water leaking in the Ireland laundry room was determined to be as a result of a clogged sink in a first floor residence.

On Nov. 29, 2013, at 9:34 p.m., Public Safety documented a suspicious activity outside of 2159 Grand Avenue. A St. Thomas contract employee reported a dead bird was discovered in a shoe box on the back step of the residence.

On Dec. 2, 2013, at 8:57 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in O’Shaughnessy Science Hall. A St. Thomas student who cut his hand working in the lower level of O’Shaughnessy was taken by a St. Thomas employee to an area hospital for medical attention.

On Dec. 3, 2013, at 1:49 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student reported his unsecured laptop was stolen from a backroom in the kitchen area of The View.

On Dec. 3, 2013, at 5:38 p.m., Public Safety documented a DWI in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A background investigation of a St. Thomas student found the student was arrested for DWI at an off-campus location in northern Minnesota.

On Dec. 3, 2013, at 7:53 p.m., Public Safety documented a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Residence Life reported two underage St. Thomas students and two St. Thomas guests admitted to consuming alcohol.

On Dec. 3, 2013, at 8:15 p.m., Public Safety documented a suspicious person on the 2100 block of Grand Avenue. An unidentified individual, who a St. Thomas employee reported approached the unsecured door of his residence, could not be located upon officers’ check of the area.

On Dec. 3, 2013, at 8:41 p.m., Public Safety documented damage to property in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. A St. Thomas student reported a security camera was damaged after being accidentally struck by a soccer ball.

On Dec. 4, 2013, at 8:49 a.m., Public Safety documented a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Selby Avenue and Finn Street. A St. Thomas student reported his vehicle slid on ice and struck a parked vehicle, causing minor damage to the rear of the vehicle.

On Dec. 5, 2013, at 3:39 a.m., Public Safety documented damage to property in Owens Science Hall. Physical Plant staff reported a cabinet had fallen off the wall in a third floor classroom, causing the glass on the front of the cabinet to shatter.

On Dec. 5, 2013, at 2:07 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 1800 block of Dayton Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported ongoing issues with tenants, who she suspected had stolen property from her, she was renting to at her off campus residence.

On Dec. 6, 2013, at 6:55 a.m., Public Safety responded to an intoxicated person on the 1800 block of Laurel Avenue. An intoxicated student of legal age, who accessed and passed out in a St. Thomas neighbor’s residence, was sent home with a sober caregiver.

On Dec. 6, 2013, at 11:45 a.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A St. Thomas student reported a non-St. Thomas affiliated individual sent a suspicious email about a student club to the club’s adviser.

On Dec. 6, 2013, at 8:33 p.m., Public Safety reported damage to property at Anderson Parking Facility. Two unidentified suspects forcibly open an exit gate arm, rendering the gate inoperable.

On Dec. 7, 2013, at 1:38 p.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Ten underage St. Thomas students and one juvenile guest were found to have consumed or possessed alcohol.

On Dec. 7, 2013, at 3:05 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Ireland Residence Hall. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual reported her unaffiliated son and a second unaffiliated person spent the night in Ireland in violation of visitation policy.

On Dec. 7, 2013, at 11:51 p.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to a noise complaint in Morrison Hall. Three underage students consumed alcohol, one underage student possessed alcohol, and a student of legal age was found to have provided alcohol.

On Dec. 8, 2013, at 3:57 a.m., Public Safety assisted a St. Thomas parent with a welfare check in Dowling Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student, who became separated from the parent’s student earlier in the evening, was located at her residence and was OK.

On Dec. 8, 2013, at 3:50 p.m., Public Safety reported a theft near Mississippi River Blvd. and Goodrich Avenue. A tree was cut down without authorization and removed from campus property.

On Dec. 8, 2013, at 10:40 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a drug law violation in Grace Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student was found to have used marijuana and was in possession of related paraphernalia.

  1. I smoke marijuana on campus on the regular! Come find me. I’d be more than happy to share a joint with any public safety officer who has the balls to argue the university’s prohibitionist position on cannabis use/possession.
