Public Safety briefs

On April 6, 2014, at 1:28 a.m., Public Safety assisted the St. Paul Police Department with a liquor law violation on the 2000 block of Marshall Avenue. SPPD cited one St. Thomas student and one unaffiliated individual for underage consumption.

On April 6, 2014, at 4:30 a.m., Public Safety assisted the St. Paul Police Department in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. SPPD requested contact information for an intoxicated St. Thomas student of legal age they located off campus.

On April 6, 2014, at 5:07 a.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a medical in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. A St. Thomas student who was not feeling well was taken by SPPD to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On April 6, 2014, at 8:26 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft at 8th Street and Hennepin Avenue. The Minneapolis Police Department reported an unidentified victim’s cell phone was stolen by an unknown suspect who fled the scene on foot.

On April 6, 2014, at 8:33 a.m., Public Safety documented a narcotics violation at 7th Street South and Nicollet Avenue South. The Minneapolis Police Department reported a non-St. Thomas affiliated suspect was cited for loitering with the intent to buy or sell narcotics.

On April 6, 2014, at 3:43 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in 2085 Grand Ave. A St. Thomas student reported two unidentified individuals were going door to door, soliciting students, and asking for credit card information.

On April 6, 2014, at 5:01 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 2100 block of Grand Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported two individuals were soliciting residents and asking for money in her apartment complex.

On April 6, 2014, at 11:14 p.m., Public Safety assisted three St. Thomas students in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. The students’ roommate, who they had not seen and were unable to reach, was later reached by phone and was safe.

On April 6, 2014, at 11:40 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in Dowling Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student, who was feeling ill, was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On April 6, 2014, at 11:58 p.m., Public Safety reported damage to property in LOT 3. The entrance gate arm was found forcibly damaged.

On April 7, 2014 at 9:50 a.m., Public Safety reported damage to property in the Morrison Hall R3 Parking Garage. Minor damage was found on the splash guard of a St. Thomas vehicle.

On April 7, 2014, at 11:01 a.m., Public Safety documented damage to property at 2119 Grand Ave. A St. Thomas employee reported spray paint graffiti found on the exterior of the building.

On April 7, 2014, at 1:53 p.m., Public Safety reported suspicious activity in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A St. Thomas student was interviewed as part of an investigation regarding activity at an off campus location.

On April 7, 2014, at 4:28 p.m., Public Safety responded to a suspicious person on the Lower Quad. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual, previously reported as having suspicious interactions with students, was identified by officers and trespassed from campus.

On April 7, 2014, at 4:36 p.m., Public Safety documented a sexual assault in the Grotto. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual reported she was fondled by a former St. Thomas student.

On April 7, 2014 at 8:58 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an odor of marijuana in Flynn Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student was found in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia.
