On Dec. 21, 2012 at 12:11 a.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the St. Paul campus. An unidentified individual, who a St. Thomas employee reported had followed him on foot from the Lower Quad to the drive aisle, could not be found upon officers’ check of the area.

On Dec. 21, 2012 at 10:41 a.m., Public Safety documented fraud at an off-campus location in Eden Prairie. A St. Thomas employee’s university-issued VISA card information was used to make an unauthorized online financial transaction.

On Dec. 21, 2012 at 3:58 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Dowling Residence Hall. An odor of marijuana was determined to be emanating from the unoccupied residence of two St. Thomas students.  PublicSafety_Briefs_PHOTO

On Dec. 22, 2012 at 11:03 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity at a U.S. Postal Service distribution center in Eagan. A USPS inspector reported a piece of mail with an offensive odor, addressed to St. Thomas, had been disposed of at the distribution center.

On Dec. 30, 2012 at 3:05 a.m., Public Safety responded to an intoxicated person in Morrison Residence Hall. An intoxicated guest of a St. Thomas student of legal drinking age was sent off campus with a sober caregiver.

On Dec. 31, 2012 at 9:07 a.m., Public Safety reported property damage on the Minneapolis campus’ empty MacPhail Building. Black paint graffiti was found on the exterior of the building.

On Dec. 31, 2012 at 10:08 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department responded to a full building fire alarm in 2171 Grand Ave. A St. Thomas student was found to have activated a pull station without authorization.

Between Dec. 20 and Dec. 31, 2012, Public Safety documented a burglary on the 2000 block of Selby Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported her off-campus residence had been forcibly entered sometime while residents were away for the holidays and several pieces of personal property were stolen.

On Jan. 2, 2013 at 12:06 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to suspicious activity in the Anderson Student Center. A non-university affiliated suspect, who previously issued bad checks on campus, was identified by officers and trespassed from campus.

On Jan. 2, 2013 at 3 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft in Minneapolis Opus Hall. A St. Thomas student reported her unattended cell phone was stolen from an unsecured classroom.

On Jan. 2, 2013 at 10:34 p.m., Public Safety reported suspicious activity in the Minneapolis campus’ School of Law building. A replica flintlock pistol, found unattended in a fourth floor office suite, was secured as found property inventory.

On Jan. 3, 2013 at 9:06 p.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to an odor of marijuana in Brady Residence Hall. Two underage St. Thomas students were found in possession of alcohol, and a guest was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

On Jan. 3, 2013 at 10:06 p.m., Public Safety documented a welfare concern in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas faculty member reported concerns regarding the welfare of a student who appeared to be in crisis over an academic matter.

On Jan. 4, 2013 at 11:06 a.m. Public Safety assisted a university neighbor in Morrison Residence Hall. The neighbor, who recovered a St. Thomas student’s lost wallet and turned it in, was concerned that their contact information had been passed along by university staff without permission.

On Jan. 4, 2013 at 11:44 a.m., Public Safety documented a roommate dispute on the 2100 block of Grand Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported she was moving out of her off-campus residence as a result of hostile comments directed toward her through social media by a roommate.

On Jan. 4, 2013 at 12:25 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Grace Residence Hall. An unidentified male, loitering in the Grace vestibule, left campus on foot when observed and approached by Public Safety officers.

On Jan. 4, 2013 at 4:24 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a policy violation in Dowling Residence Hall. A student’s guest, found in lawful possession of a handgun, but in violation of university policy, was identified and trespassed from campus.

On Jan. 6, 2013 at 1:04 a.m., Public Safety assisted a parent with a welfare check in 2151 Grand Ave. The parent’s student, who the parent was trying, could not be located upon officers’ check of his residence.

On Jan. 6, 2013 at 1:16 a.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to an odor of marijuana in 2151 Grand Ave. An underage St. Thomas student was found in possession of alcohol, marijuana and related paraphernalia.

On Jan. 6, 2013 at 12:32 p.m., Public Safety assisted the Metro Transit Police Department with an investigation in Morrison Residence Hall.

On Jan. 6, 2013 at 8:20 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an odor of marijuana in Morrison Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student was found to have several pieces of marijuana related paraphernalia, several of which contained marijuana residue.

On Jan. 7, 2013 at 12:40 p.m., Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Owens Science Hall. An unidentified male, reported as pacing near the second floor coffee stand, could not be located upon officers’ check of the building.

On Jan. 7, 2013 at 3:58 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical at the Seminary Residence. A Physical Plant staff member who cut himself on a broken light bulb was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.
