2014 Tommie Award Nominee: Gina Vo

Gina Vo, marketing management major

Vo is from Austin, Minn. She is a member of the Advertising Federation and the National Student Advertising Competition. She is also the director of technology for the St. Thomas chapter of the American Marketing Association.

After a guest speaker in a marketing class suggested students “get out there,” Vo decided to start a St. Thomas fashion blog, which she said has been viewed in more than 20 countries. Vo said her favorite college memory was all the “randomness” that came with her freshman year of college.

Vo said an interesting fact about her is that she never owned a Barbie doll during her childhood because her parents opted for art supplies as a cheaper alternative.

Vo said she aspires to work in multichannel marketing for Target, but immediately after graduation she will analyze consumer insights and retail strategy development for Ovative Group, a data management and digital marketing agency in Minneapolis.
