Goodwin is from Deerwood, Minnesota. He has been involved on campus in Summit Singers, Chamber Singers, as vice president for Communion and Liberation University, a senior intern for Catholic Leadership Interns and tutor and research assistant for the Chemistry Department.

He received the St. Thomas Chemistry Catalyst Award and Biology E.D.G.E. Award in 2013 for academic excellence in those fields.

Goodwin is passionate about music and enjoys playing the guitar and writing songs in his free time, along with being involved in singing groups on campus. His greatest achievement at St. Thomas was being a part of the first Summit Singers CD, “Under the Arches,” which was released this fall. His personal theme song would be anything by Ed Sheeran.

Goodwin has been to nine countries, including studying abroad in Rome with the Catholic Studies program in Spring 2015. If he could have a superpower, Goodwin would like the power to be in two places at once.

In the future, Goodwin wants to be a doctor. He will be attending the University of Minnesota Medical School next year.
