Fry is from Bettendorf, Iowa. She has held leadership positions on campus as the president of Catholic Women’s Leadership, a freshman orientation leader and a member of the Catholic Studies Leadership Interns.

Fry said her greatest achievement at St. Thomas was helping create Catholic Women’s Leadership during her sophomore year. The group encourages women to pursue their faith and develop a strong community.

One of her favorite memories in college was seeing the campus come alive with celebration after Pope Francis’ papal inaguration.

In her free time, Fry enjoys exploring cute coffee shops around the Twin Cities. She has also been involved in several different volunteer groups on campus, including Volunteers In Action and Global Tommies.

Fry is looking forward to getting married to Adam Maher in the future. After graduation, she would like to work in the mental health field or as a nurse.

Missurelli is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Tommie, he has been a resident advisor, operations manager, apartment coordinator and night access worker in Brady and Morrison halls, founded Spread the Love, played on the ultimate frisbee team and completed university research for engineering.

Missurelli is dedicated to spreading happiness and building a better community on campus. One event he is passionate about co-founding is the Valentine’s event on campus called Spread the Love, where students make Valentine’s cards for random St. Thomas students as a way of promoting a more loving campus environment.

His favorite memory at St. Thomas was walking through the arches for the first time as a freshman. If he could have a superpower, Missurelli would want super speed because there are not enough hours in the day, and being able to run from south campus to north campus in a flash would make life easier.

Missurelli said his greatest achievement at St. Thomas has been working hard for three and a half years in engineering classes and expecting to graduate in four years with a mechanical engineering degree.

In the future, he wants to be the CEO of an environmental engineering company and make everyday products more environmentally friendly.

Simmet is the co-president of the nonprofit club Students Today Leaders Forever and is a four-year starter on the St. Thomas football team.

One of aspects he enjoys most about St. Thomas is the quality relationships he has created with people in differing areas across campus, from the football team and service groups to the guys on his floor freshman year who have impacted his life. Simmet hopes his greatest achievement is the lasting impact he has made on their lives.

Simmet is passionate about helping others, creating a better future and giving himself to the greater good. He wants to pursue these passions in the future by becoming the best husband, father and leader of men possible.

For fun, Simmet enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, reading financial news and playing football. If he could have a superpower, Simmet would like the ability to not require sleep so he could accomplish more tasks and stay awake 24/7.

One of his favorite memories at St. Thomas has been representing St. Thomas on a national scale by playing in the Stagg Bowl, the NCAA Division III football championship, during his freshman year. Simmet said his theme song is “Comeback Kid” by Brett Dennen because it brings back great memories with friends and sends the message of never giving up, which has been very important during his college career.

The online voting to determine the Tommie Award winner will take place Feb. 8-10.
