Campus community impressed with new Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex

The new Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex was officially opened Tuesday, August 31 after 15 months of planning and construction.

“We all waited as the project developed,” Athletic Director Steve Fritz said at the ribbon cutting ceremony. “We waited with curiosity. We waited with enthusiasm, and certainly with patience. But I can guarantee you. The wait’s well worth it.”

The new facility features a new field house, pool and workout facilities, as well as a new Schoenecker Arena, which will bring volleyball and basketball games back to campus.

“The first time we step out on the court, it’s going to be amazing,” varsity basketball player Tyler Nicolai said. “I can’t even explain what it’s going to be like.”
