I am all for banning plastic water bottles. It is one of the greatest hoaxes ever pulled on the American people that folks would pay a dollar (or more) for something they can get for free at any water fountain. It is not only at events that our community is lazy about recycling. You can see bottles and cans in most garbage cans around campus even though the recycling containers are a foot away. It really is a social justice issue to use our resources so poorly.

I am also in agreement with this one. This would be a great move for St. Thomas in it's continued efforts to become a more sustainable campus.

I also really like this idea! I recently started using an aluminum water bottle (much like the SIGGs) and it's been way more hassle-free than buying water in plastic bottles. I also love Mr. Douglas' quote: "When you do not recycle you are just fouling in your own nest." This is so true.

I think this is a great idea! Carrying a reusable water bottle and filling up at a water fountain or vending machine is just as convenient, and far better for the environment, not to mention much cheaper than buying bottled water.
