Tommies dominate Blue Devil defense in first half

Fourth-ranked St. Thomas scored a defensive touchdown from defensive back Michael Alada and two touchdowns from Tucker Trettle on the way to dominating Wisconsin-Stout, 36-7, in the first half of a nonconference football game and the Tommie home opener at Palmer Field.

Jackson Hull caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Alex Fenske in the first quarter to open the scoring. Alada scored the second Tommie touchdown on a 24-yard interception return to bring the score to 13-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Trettle, a backup running back, scored twice in the second quarter in the second game of the season for both teams. Running back Jordan Roberts ran three yards for a touchdown late in the half.

Stout’s only score came on a 46-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jay Alston to wide receiver Jordan Dabney.
