This semester, USG increased the amount of money given to clubs and organizations by about ten percent.

Vice President of Financial Affairs Louis Sand said USG increased the allocation as a way to help students get involved in the campus community.

“One of the big things USG does in terms of financing is funding clubs,” Sand said. “One of the great ways students get involved on campus is obviously through clubs and (organizations), and so increasing the percentage of funding for these clubs gives them the resources and opportunities to expand.”

The other 48 percent of the budget will go toward the University Concert and Lectures Fund, Fanamaniacs, class council and senior week.

Sand said the actual money in that portion of the budget will not significantly decrease because of rollover funds.

USG also increased the food allocation by $10 per person, per semester for all clubs that submit a request.
