Men’s golf ends season with fourth place finish

Freshman John Young tied for first to lead the men’s golf team to a fourth place finish out of 20 teams Sunday at the Twin Cities Classic.

Weather cut the 54-hole tournament down to a single 18-hole round and Young’s score of 70 topped a 120-man field. St. Thomas finished with a team total of 294, enough to beat 16 Division III teams. St. John’s took first place with a team total of 289.

Other top shooters for the Tommies included senior James Stafford with a 74 and junior Sean Barrett with a 75.

The event marked the end of the fall season for St. Thomas.
