Public Safety briefs

On July 14 at 4:25 a.m., A UST employee reported property damage in McNeely Hall. Insulation was found forcibly removed from a beam in the west MCH stairwell.

On July 14 at 3:35 p.m., A UST employee reported vehicle damage on the 2100 block of Selby Avenue. The rear window of the employee’s shattered after being struck by an unknown object.

On July 15 at 6:32 a.m., The Minneapolis Police Department reported a Public Safety concern via MPD radio link. An off campus incident in downtown Minneapolis, initially reported as a shooting, was later determined to be unfounded by MPD.

On July 15 at 11:46 a.m., A UST employee reported a suspicious person in John Roach Center. A non-UST affiliated male looking into offices in JRC was identified by officers and trespassed from campus.

On July 15 at 12:22 p.m., A UST employee reported a suspicious incident in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A non-UST affiliated individual, previously reported soliciting community members for money, could not be located upon officers’ search of the area.

On July 15 at 1:51 p.m., A UST employee reported a suspicious incident in Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. An unidentified non-UST affiliated individual, reported soliciting community members, was observed leaving the area on a bicycle after officers’ arrival.

On July 15 at 4:01 p.m., A UST student reported a theft in Brady Educational Center. The student’s laptop was stolen from their unsecured bag in the BEC auditorium.

On July 16 at 12:52 a.m., Public Safety and the Minneapolis Fire Department responded to an alarm in Terrence Murphy Hall. A malfunction in a lower level mechanical room was found to be the cause of the alarm.

On July 16 at 5:08 p.m., A UST employee reported property damage in Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. A piece of plaster had fallen from the ceiling.

On July 17 at 11:45 a.m., A UST employee reported a theft at Brady Educational Center. Three metal downspouts were forcibly removed from the exterior of BEC.

On July 17 at 6:46 p.m., Public Safety assisted a UST guest in John Paul II Residence Hall. Officers assisted the guest with retrieving their personal property.
