Public Safety briefs

On Sept. 21 at 7:04 p.m., Public Safety reported a public records check of a non-UST affiliated vehicle in Morrison Hall. Ownership of the vehicle was verified for the purposes of public safety.

On Sept. 21 at 9:42 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A UST student, who cut their chin playing football, was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Sept. 21 at 11:48 p.m., a UST student reported a disturbance in Cretin Residence Hall. Several UST students got into a verbal altercation with another student over noise the student was causing.

On Sept. 22 at 1:20 a.m., Public Safety reported criminal damage to property outside of Terrence Murphy Hall. A non-UST affiliated individual who shattered an exterior TMH window and assaulted an officer, was arrested and taken off campus by the Minneapolis Police Department.

On Sept. 22 at 2:30 a.m., Public Safety reported a medical outside of Terrence Murphy Hall. A UST employee assaulted by a non-UST affiliated individual reported they had bruising on their torso but declined medical attention.

On Sept. 22 at 11:47 a.m., a UST neighbor reported property damage on the 2000 block of Laurel Avenue. A metal sign the neighbor posted soliciting renters was vandalized with spray paint graffiti.

On Sept. 23 at 1:13 a.m., a UST student reported an assault on the 2000 block of Summit Avenue. An unidentified individual exited a parked vehicle, struck the student in the face and then fled the area in the vehicle.

On Sept. 23 at 1:06 p.m., a UST student reported property damage on the 2100 block of Selby Avenue. The student reported their parked vehicle was struck several times by eggs.

On Sept. 23 at 5:40 p.m., a UST student reported a fire on the 1800 block of Marshall Avenue. A couch on the front porch of the student’s residence was on fire. The nature of the fire was burning furniture materials. The fire was extinguished by the St. Paul Fire Department and no injuries were reported. The value of the damage is currently not known.

On Sept. 24 at 8:39 p.m., a non-UST affiliated individual reported a disturbance on the 100 block of Cretin Avenue. Ten unidentified individuals, who the individuals reported obstructed traffic as he was attempting to drive on Cretin Avenue, could not be located upon officers’ search of the area.

On Sept. 24 at 9:39 p.m., a UST employee reported an odor of marijuana in Ireland Residence Hall. The odor was determined to be emanating from a first floor residence.

On Sept. 24 at 10:32 p.m., Public Safety reported a liquor law violation in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. An underage intoxicated UST student was sent home with a parent.

On Sept. 25 at 1:34 a.m., a non-UST affiliated individual reported an assault at an unknown off campus location in St. Paul. The individual, who was intoxicated and had facial injuries, was assisted by officers and sent off campus with a parent.

On Sept. 25 at 2:51 a.m., a UST employee reported a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. One underage intoxicated UST student and two underage guests were sent home with family members.

On Sept. 25 at 5:07 a.m., Public Safety reported a liquor law violation on the LOT B drive aisle. An underage intoxicated UST student was transported by the St. Paul Police Department to Detox.

On Sept. 26 at 11:09 a.m., a UST employee reported a suspicious person in Terrence Murphy Hall. An unidentified individual, who was possibly intoxicated, was escorted out of TMH by the employee.

On Sept 26 at 1:49 p.m., a UST employee reported property damage in LOT E. A lamp post was struck by an unknown vehicle and knocked over.

On Sept. 26 at 5:01 p.m., a UST student reported a theft outside of Owens Science Hall. The student’s secured bicycle was stolen from a bike rack outside of OWS.

On Sept. 27 at 9:10 a.m., Public Safety and Hennepin County Medical Center Medics responded to a medical in Terrance Murphy Hall. A UST employee experiencing chest pains was transported by Medics to an area hospital for further medical attention

On Sept. 27 at 2:09 p.m., a UST student reported a burglary on the 1700 block of Selby Avenue. A laptop and iPod were stolen from the student’s unsecured residence.

On Sept. 27 at 6:46 p.m., the University of MN Police Department reported a liquor law violation at University Avenue and 18th Avenue in Minneapolis. An underage UST student was found to have consumed alcohol and was cited by MPD for underage consumption.
