Public Safety briefs

On Feb. 19 at 11:35 a.m., Public Safety documented property damage in Dowling Residence Hall. A UST employee reported black marker graffiti in a fourth floor restroom stall and that the furniture in the fourth floor lounge was turned over and covered with streamers and confetti.

On Feb. 19 at 1:45 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in McCarthy Gym. A UST student who injured his ankle was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Feb. 20 at 10:08 a.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in Schulze Hall. A UST student who fainted was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Feb. 20 at 5:05 p.m., Public Safety reported reckless driving in Lot G. A UST student, who was cited for a parking violation, became belligerent with an officer and left the lot at an unsafe rate of speed.

On Feb. 21 at 10:02 a.m., Public Safety documented a theft in O’Shaughnessy Science Hall. A UST employee reported an unsecured UST computer was stolen from a second floor OSS classroom.

On Feb. 21 at 10:50 p.m., Public Safety responded to drug possession on the North Athletic Field. A UST student was found to have used and was in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

On Feb. 22 at 8:07 a.m., Public Safety assisted a UST student with a welfare check in Minneapolis School of Law. A second student, who the first student was attempting to locate, was reached by phone off campus and was OK.

On Feb. 22 at 3:52 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in McNeely Hall. A UST student who had fainted in class was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Feb. 22 at 6:39 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 2000 block of Portland Avenue. An anonymous complainant reported that fake ID’s were purchased from a residence on the block.

On Feb. 22 at 10:22 p.m., Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation in Anderson Student Center. An underage UST student was found to have consumed and was in possession of alcohol. The student’s underage guest was found to be intoxicated and was sent home with a parent.

On Feb. 23 at 3:04 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft from a motor vehicle in Lot M. A UST student reported the right rear window of their vehicle was smashed and a backpack containing several pieces of personal property was stolen.

On Feb. 23 at 4:54 p.m., Public Safety and Hennepin County Medical Center Medics responded to a medical in Minneapolis School of Law. A non-UST affiliated individual experiencing an asthma attack was transported by Medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On Feb. 24 at 12:46 a.m., Public Safety documented recovered property in Morrison Hall. A UST employee’s wallet, found by University of MN Police at an off campus location, was turned over by UMPD and secured as found property inventory.

On Feb. 24 at 8:11 a.m., Public Safety documented a neighbor complaint on the 100 block of Howell Street. A UST neighbor reported the residents of an address on the block had a large number of guests who caused a disturbance and discarded trash on other properties.

On Feb. 24 at 10:44 a.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center. A UST student who fell and injured their foot was assisted by an officer and declined further medical attention.

On Feb. 24 at 3:33 p.m., Public Safety documented a hit and run vehicle accident at an off-campus location. A UST shuttle driver reported a vehicle struck a UST shuttle bus on westbound 94, then fled the scene, causing minor damage to the passenger side of the bus.

On Feb. 24 at 4:41 p.m., Public Safety documented an informational alert issued by the Bureau for Criminal Apprehension. The BCA released public information that a non-UST affiliated individual was removed from a high school basketball game in Mankato for videotaping participants.

On Feb. 24 at 5:31 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft from vehicle in the Development Office parking lot. A non-UST affiliated individual reported the front passenger seat of her parked vehicle was smashed and a small handbag, containing credit cards, was stolen.

On Feb. 24 at 7:05 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a noise complaint on the 2000 block of Dayton Avenue. SPPD cleared approximately 75 people from a residence on the block.

On Feb. 24 at 8:13 p.m., Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation in Anderson Athletic & Recreational Complex. An underage intoxicated UST student was sent off campus with a parent.

On Feb. 24 at 10:22 p.m., Public Safety documented a policy violation in Morrison Hall. A UST student reported ongoing concerns regarding the occupants of a Morrison residence who continue to play music at an excessive volume and behave in a disruptive manner.

On Feb. 24 at 11:46 p.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to an odor of marijuana in Dowling Residence Hall. Two underage, intoxicated UST students were found to have used and were in possession of alcohol, marijuana and related paraphernalia and were sent off campus with family members.

On Feb. 25 at 1:19 a.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a liquor law violation at the intersection of Selby Avenue and Cretin Avenue. An underage intoxicated UST student was transported to Detox by SPPD. A second student was also found to have consumed alcohol.

On Feb. 25 at 1:40 a.m., Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation on the Lot B drive aisle. Two underage intoxicated non-UST affiliated individuals, who were belligerent towards officers, were trespassed from campus and sent home with a sober caregiver.

On Feb. 25 at 3:52 p.m., Public Safety documented two medical incidents that occurred off campus in Hastings. Two UST students received injuries while skiing at a UST sponsored student event at Afton Alps and sought medical attention at an area hospital.

On Feb. 26 at 8:31 p.m., Public Safety documented a complaint in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. A UST employee reported ongoing concerns regarding a non-UST affiliated individual who uses the library and is difficult and belligerent with staff.

On Feb. 27 at 2:17 p.m., Public Safety documented property damage in Anderson Athletic & Recreation Center. A UST student reported he inadvertently threw a baseball that struck and damaged an interior window in the fieldhouse.

On Feb. 27 at 4:14 p.m., Public Safety documented the trespass of a non-UST affiliated individual from campus.

On Feb. 27 at 11:13 p.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to a noise complaint in Morrison Hall. Two UST students, reported by another student playing music at an excessive volume, were advised of noise policies.
