The Tommies are alone atop the MIAC after beating the Bethel Royals 10-6 Saturday at Palmer Field.

The Tommie defense was outstanding Saturday, giving up only six points to the MIAC’s best rushing offense. The defense was on the field for more than 34 minutes but didn’t wear down.

Senior linebacker Tommy Becker made one of the biggest plays of the game when he intercepted Bethel quarterback Josh Aakre with roughly two minutes left in the game.

The second half belonged to Colin Tobin, who had 80 rushing yards and a touchdown in the second half.
