A noteworthy first for some St. Thomas students

Many St. Thomas students cast their ballots for the first time in the presidential election Tuesday.

Students who live on campus on the north side of Summit Avenue voted at McNeely Hall, but students on the south side of Summit had to make a half-mile trek to the Groveland Recreation Center.

Sophomore Logan Tufte said he thought student enthusiasm for the election was high.

“It matters to young people,” Tufte said. “More often you find someone with an opinion than someone without one that doesn’t want to express it.”

Senior Christa Kramer was proud to wear her “I voted” sticker after she left the polls.

“I enjoyed it,” Kramer said. “I liked getting this sticker, it shows that I contributed to our country.”
