Bomb threat at technical college forces evacuation, disrupts voting

CANBY, Minn. – A bomb threat forced the temporary evacuation of the Minnesota West Community and Technical College campus in Canby this morning, as well as a polling place located there.

No bomb was found, and Canby Police and the Yellow Medicine Sheriff’s Department are seeking information on who may be responsible.

The bomb threat was discovered around 11:24 a.m. when two female students discovered the words “bomb in school” scrawled in pen on a bathroom stall door in the Main Administrative Building. They reported the discovery, and Campus Dean Rebecca Weber ordered the buildings evacuated according to school protocol.
