UPDATE: Brady Educational Center walls leak due to heavy rain

A classroom in Brady Educational Center sustained water damage around 7 p.m. Thursday after its ceiling leaked due to heavy rainfall. The ceiling’s drywall bubbled as a steady trickle of water pooled on the classroom floor behind students.

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Ramsey County at 6 p.m. on Thursday, which remained in effect until 9 p.m. One to four inches of rain had fallen in many locations across the warned area, according to the weather service. At 8:30 p.m., the weather service reported 3.13 inches of rain for Thursday at Groveland Park a few blocks southeast of St. Thomas.

The weather service received four reports of tornadoes in southern Minnesota yesterday, with the nearest reports coming from Northfield and Canon Falls.

As of Friday morning, Xcel Energy reported over 450 homes were without power in the Twin Cities.
