Fall Activities Fair in Anderson complex draws 2,000 students

An estimated 2,000 students participated in the fall Activities Fair in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex during convocation hour Tuesday, according to Assistant Director of Campus Life Tara LaFerla.

More than 80 on-campus groups and clubs had tables. The fair was held in the Anderson complex for the first time, allowing each club to have its own 6-foot-long table.

The Activities Fair increases awareness about on-campus organizations, LaFerla said.

“It helps St. Thomas student clubs and organizations get the word out about their club, recruit, connect with each other and kick off the semester,” LaFerla said. “Though technology enables clubs to access members and to recruit in ways that are immediate and convenient, nothing compares to face-to-face interaction.”
