Memorial services set for Monday for student who died

St. Thomas has scheduled a memorial service for junior Aaron Schuster, who died in a car crash Monday, Oct. 3.

The Bulletin Today said services will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, in the Florence Chapel on the university’s St. Paul campus.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Schuster was driving northbound on Highway 35 at about 2 p.m. Monday when his car crossed the center line and collided head-on with a large truck.

He was treated at the scene by Red Wing paramedics and transported by helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where he later died.

Schuster, 20, was majoring in electrical engineering. He graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 2009.
