The MIAC Presidents’ Council announced Wednesday that it will allow both 2020 fall sports and 2021 spring sports to compete during the spring semester, with shortened seasons for fall sports only.

The decision clears St. Thomas fall and spring sports to compete in a final season against MIAC teams as it transitions to Division I in the fall of 2021.

President Biden announced Tuesday that every American adult will have access to a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of May.

A Minnesota Department of Health spokesperson said, “any increase of the supply of vaccines for COVID-19 gets us closer to the end of the pandemic.”

In Yangon, Myanmar a video of Thein Zaw, an Associated Press journalist, being arrested has surfaced as he was photographing Myanmar security forces charging at anti-coup protesters.

At least 33 protesters were killed by Myanmar security.

This is the highest number since a February 1st military coup.

Authorities have charged Thein Zaw and five other members of the media with violating a public order law that could see them imprisoned for up to three years.
