Public Safety briefs – Feb. 10, 2016

On Feb. 1 at 6:44 p.m. Public Safety responded to an odor of marijuana in the apartments above the Child Development Center. A St. Thomas student was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

On Feb. 2 at 3:35 p.m. Public Safety documented a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Residence Life reported an underage St. Thomas student possessed alcohol.

On Feb. 2 at 6:38 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Ireland Residence Hall. One St. Thomas student was found in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

On Feb. 3 at 10:31 a.m. Public Safety reported a policy violation in LOT G. A St. Thomas employee was found to have been using an altered parking permit in violation of university parking policy.

On Feb. 4 at 9:48 a.m. Public Safety and Hennepin County Medical Center Medics responded to a medical in Schulze Hall. A St. Thomas student who experienced a seizure was transported by Medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On Feb. 4 at 2:00 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage outside of Morrison R3 Parking Garage. The R3 entrance gate arm had been struck and bent, but the gate was still functional.

On Feb. 5 at 9:28 a.m. Public Safety reported suspicious activity in LOT G. A vehicle was found parked in the lot with an open container of alcohol in the center console, in violation of St. Thomas alcohol policy.

On Feb. 7 at 1:45 p.m. Public Safety documented a liquor law violation in LOT A. An underage student, who the St. Paul Police Department reported was removed from a bar off campus, was cited by SPPD for underage consumption and providing false information.

On Feb. 7 at 8:25 p.m. Public Safety reported a policy violation in Ireland Residence Hall. A localized alarm was found to have been caused as a result of a student using an e-cigarette in violation of residential policy.

On Feb. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft at Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student reported her unattended backpack, containing a laptop and personal property, was stolen from the atrium.

On Feb. 8 at 5:36 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft at Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student reported her unattended backpack, containing a laptop and personal property, was stolen from the atrium.

On Feb. 8 at 8:14 p.m. Public Safety and Saint Paul Police Department responded to a disorderly conduct in the Anderson Athletic & Recreation Complex. An intoxicated St. Thomas student of legal age, who fought with officers, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

On Feb. 9 at 3:37 p.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity outside of Physical Plant. An individual reported as walking around with a rifle was determined to be a student carrying an uncased ceremonial replica used for military drill purposes.
