Public Safety warns of armed robbery

An armed robbery occurred Feb. 13 near Summit Avenue and Wilder Street at approximately 5 a.m. according to a Public Safety email alert.

According to the alert, A man not affiliated with St. Thomas flagged down a Public Safety officer at Grand and Cleveland Avenues. The man had facial abrasions and informed the officer that he had been robbed at knifepoint approximately 30 – 60 minutes earlier.

The St. Paul Police Department was contacted and arrived on the scene after a short time. Public Safety was not able to gain additional details about the incident after that point, the alert said.

Public Safety send an email Saturday to inform St. Thomas students, faculty and staff about the armed robbery. The email included crime prevention tips, such as reporting crimes immediately to Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department.
