USG amends constitution, stricter rules on club funding

The Undergraduate Student Government amended its constitution Sunday. The amendment, which was presented at the USG meeting last Sunday, more explicitly states what clubs cannot use club budget funding for.

The amendment states USG will not fund “shirts, gifts or uniforms for club members.”

USG will not fund items that do not remain with the club from year to year. Clubs would have to submit a plan about how these items will stay with the group when they submit a budget proposal to the finance committee.

USG gives more money to clubs

Students for Justice and Peace requested and was allocated a budget of $100.

German Club requested $2,948 for a heritage conference in Chicago and was allocated $1,800.

Club Fishing made a special request for USG to fund an ice fishing trip in January Term. The group will travel to Lake Mille Lacs. Club Fishing requested $2,300 and was allocated $1,725.
