Freshman Brandon Miranda

Brandon Miranda, freshman
Why he is running: “I am running because, thus far, St. Thomas has been everything and more for me. This university has transformed me into a new person, who I actually love! Becoming sophomore class president would mean an opportunity to return the gratitude to St. Thomas by helping it grow even better. I am willing to work hard to make the 2011-2012 school year be an amazing time for the sophomore class.”

What he would do if elected: “If I was elected, I would work to promote more campus involvement. One thing I sort of noticed over the last year was that some events were not as well attended as they should have been, and becoming Sophomore Class President would put me in a position where I can work on changing that. Involvement is the lifeblood of community, so if there is an increase in involvement, I truly believe that there will be a more thriving community here at this school, which already has a beyond amazing community.”

Cole Aden, freshman
Current position: Freshman Class President
Why he is running: “I am currently the freshman class president and wish to continue on USG representing my class. I will continue working on our current initiatives and enhancing what we already have. I felt that I did a good job of doing what I said I would do as president this year, and would only do better next year considering I have the most experience as a class president of USG.”

What he would do if elected: “If I was elected I would try to have more events for the freshmen, to use the budget to its fullest extent, giving the sophomores what they would like next year and by making everyone closer as a class itself. I want to hear what everyone has to say, and I’ll use this to help make our sophomore year better than the freshman year.”

Jet Lloyd, freshman
Current position: Freshman Senator
Why he is running: “As a freshman senator this year, I feel that I have the knowledge and experience needed to lead our class next year as sophomore president. Vote for Jet and we can fly to the next level.”

What he would do if elected: “If given the opportunity to be the sophomore president for 2011-2012, I will work hard to make sure to represent my fellow classmates to the fullest. I believe that it is important that a class knows who their representatives are and feels comfortable expressing their concerns or opinions to them. I want to be involved with campus events.”
