USG gives more than $10,000 to eight clubs for events

The Undergraduate Student Government allocated a total of $10,257.96 to St. Thomas clubs and organizations through conference and competition funding requests at its meeting Sunday, April 11.

The total was divided between eight clubs and organizations that will use the money to attend various events across the country.

HANA will receive $1,800 to attend the Midwest Asian American Student Union conference at Ohio State University.

Silver Wings and the Arnold Air Society will each receive $582.70 to attend the Air Force National Conclave.

The Real Estate Society will receive $1,800 for a trip to Las Vegas, Nev., to meet with various real estate professionals and tour various property types.

The Biology club will receive $550 to attend a lecture in Iowa titled, “Sex and the single cell: The origin and evolution of meiosis.”

The Dance club will receive $1,800 to attend a local dance competition.

Racquetball club will receive $1,800 to compete in the USA Racquetball Intercollegiate Championships in Springfield, Mo.

Foreign Affairs Club will receive $1342.56 to attend the Arrowhead Model United Nations conference at UW-River Falls.
