USG seeks to fill open Senate spots

The Undergraduate Student Government held its first fall semester meeting Sept. 13.

About half of the USG senate is currently vacant with many positions needing to be filled, such as a freshman president, two freshman senators, a freshman residential senator, two senior senators and a transfer senator.

Corey Dahl, elections and credentials chair, said the number of vacant positions this year is “a bit of an anomaly.”

“Right now we have 10 elected positions in the senate that are up for grabs this fall. In addition to those, we have positions open to students on our standing committees,” Dahl said. “Our goal is to increase student involvement so more students have a stake in life here at St. Thomas.”

Information about the elections can be found at the USG website, where you can also print an election packet. Elections will be held Sept. 22-24.
