Loss ruins men’s soccer’s chance at MIAC championship

The men’s soccer team lost a 2-1 overtime decision at Macalester Saturday.

Macalester scored in the first period of overtime for the game winner. A goal by St. Thomas junior Elliot Amundson in the 75th minute tied the game at 1-1 and forced the overtime.

The loss knocks the Tommies out of race for the MIAC Championship, which officially went to Carleton after the St. Thomas loss.

The Tommies can still take second place in the MIAC, and play Tuesday against Concordia-Moorhead.
