The St. Thomas men’s soccer team lost 2-0 against Augsburg Saturday at St. Thomas.

Augsburg forward Chad Gilmer scored the first goal of the game in the first half with the help of defenseman Peter Loyd. The Auggies did it again in the second half with another goal by mid-fielder Josh Sweeney, assisted by forward Benjamin Wexler.

Augsburg stopped all five Tommie attempts on goal, while St. Thomas goal keeper Alexander Benson had three total saves.

Although the game was a shutout, St. Thomas showed strength in numbers with its offense during the game. The Tommies managed to match Augsburg’s five shot attempts, but defensive problems contributed to Augsburg’s victory.
