Eastern beat St. Thomas 3-0 in the NCAA D-III volleyball quarterfinals.

The Tommie volleyball team is among the final eight teams in the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row. St. Thomas faces Eastern University (Pa.) at 5:30 p.m. Friday in St. Louis.

The Tommies defeated the Cobbers 3-0 and will travel next weekend to St. Louis, Mo. for the Elite Eight.

The Tommies dominated the first two sets en route to a 3-0 victory and will face St. Scholastica at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

MIAC schools St. Ben’s and Bethel also join conference tournament champion Concordia-Moorhead in the playoffs.

The No.11-ranked Tommies defeated Hamline 3-0 Wednesday as the team honored its seniors for Senior Appreciation Night.

The No. 11-ranked Tommies won their 12th consecutive game and are in a tie for first  in the MIAC.

The No. 12-ranked Tommies increased their home win streak to 13 games and maintained their place on top of the MIAC.

The Tommies bounced back with a win against Carleton after a disappointing  outcome last weekend.

The No.7-ranked Tommie volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Gustavus in its home opener.
