The defending national champion St. Thomas volleyball team’s season came to an end after a 3-1 upset at the hands of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Setter Maddie Reese’s 28 assists were pivotal for the No. 4-ranked volleyball team as it snatched a 3-1 victory over No. 13-ranked Augsburg in an NCAA regional semifinal.
Middle blocker Kelly Foley’s career-high 25 kills lifted St. Thomas past the University of Northwestern (Minn.) in the first round of the NCAA regional tournament.
The No. 4-ranked Tommies will face the University of Northwestern (Minn.) at 8 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Division-III regional playoff tournament.

All-MIAC middle blocker Kelly Foley tallied a season-high 21 kills as the St. Thomas women’s volleyball team defeated St. Mary’s University 3-1.
No. 4-ranked St. Thomas volleyball ended its regular season with a 3-0 victory over St. Mary’s, clinching a share of the MIAC championship for the seventh consecutive year.
Outside hitter Jill Greenfield led the No. 4-ranked St. Thomas volleyball team with 11 kills and 16 digs in the Tommies’ final non-conference matchup.
