Public Safety briefs – April 19, 2016

On April 9 at 2:05 a.m. Public Safety responded to an intoxicated person on the Lower Quad. The St. Paul Police Department escorted the St. Thomas student of legal age home.

On April 9 at 4:14 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. Officers assisted a St. Thomas student who injured his back playing rugby. He declined further medical attention.

On April 9 at 4:29 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. Officers assisted a St. Thomas student who cut his hand playing rugby. He declined further medical attention.

On April 9 at 10:43 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Koch Commons. A St. Thomas student sustained a cut to his forehead after falling in Brady Residence Hall and was provided a taxi to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On April 10 at 12:59 a.m. Public Safety reported a liquor law violation on the 2100 block of Summit Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department escorted an intoxicated underage non-affiliated St. Thomas person off campus.

On April 11 at 8:49 a.m. Public Safety responded to a suspicious person in Minneapolis Opus Hall. Officers identified and removed from campus a non St. Thomas affiliated individual found sleeping in a second-floor MOH restroom.

On April 11 at 10:46 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in Brady Residence Hall. Medics transported a St. Thomas student experiencing severe abdominal pains to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On April 12 at 10:59 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in O’Shaughnessy Science Hall. Medics transported a St. Thomas student who experienced a seizure to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On April 12 at 2:11 p.m. Public Safety documented a robbery on the 900 block of Hawthorne Avenue. A St. Thomas employee reported she was struck in the face and had several items taken by an unknown suspect.

On April 13 at 12:18 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department responded to a full building alarm in Morrison Hall. The alarm was determined to have been as a result of a malfunctioning valve on a water heater, causing an excess amount of water and steam to leak.

On April 14 at 11:14 p.m. Public Safety and Residence Life responded to drug possession in Morrison Hall. An underage St. Thomas student possessed alcohol, marijuana and related paraphernalia.

On April 16 at 12:16 a.m. Public Safety responded to a noise complaint at Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas student removed a window screen and got on the first floor roof just above the west patio in violation of policy.

On April 16 at 2:51 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas student reported ongoing concerns regarding a roommate dispute.

On April 17 at 12:10 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Two underage students had consumed and possessed alcohol, and one of the students also possessed a fake ID.

On April 17 at 6:31 p.m. Public Safety responded to a localized fire alarm in Flynn Residence Hall. The alarm was determined to have been the result of a student burning a candle in her residence in violation of residential policy.

On April 18 at 11:35 p.m. Public Safety documented a noise complaint in the area of the North Athletic Field. A report of fireworks being set off could not be verified upon officers’ check of the area.
