UPDATE: 4:19 p.m. Oct. 22. This story has been updated to include cause of death and link to obituary.

St. Thomas sophomore Katherine Mullen was found unresponsive Friday morning and later pronounced dead.

According to an email sent by the university, Mullen was found in her bed. Mullen died of natural causes, according to Mullen’s obituary.

Public Safety had no further information at the time of this posting.

Mullen was a dean’s list student from Andover, Minn., and worked in Academic Counseling & Support.

St. Thomas has counselors available for those dealing with grief.

  1. My heart is heavy with grief after hearing about this terrible tragedy today from my daughter who also is a St Thomas Senior.
    My thoughts and Prayers go out to the family and friends of this wonderful student. May the greatness of God bless Katherine Mullen’s soul and bring her to the glorious kingdom of God The almighty.
