Strong finish at Blugold Invite for men’s CC

The men’s cross country team rode the performance of four top-eight finishers to take second place at the Blugold Invite Friday. St. Thomas finished just behind host Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The Tommies had three runners place in the top five. Sophomore Ben Sathre came in second place and senior Mike Connell placed third. Senior Brian Sames took fifth place and sophomore Tyler Iverson finished in eighth.

St. Thomas competes next on Oct. 17, when it will split the team between two events. The top seven runners will head to Oberlin, Ohio, while the remainder of the team will run at the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invite.
