Tensions, anticipation turn to relief, celebration at George Floyd memorial

Leading up to the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial, tensions and anticipation were high at 38th Street and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, the site where George Floyd died beneath the knee of the former Minneapolis officer. When word of the guilty verdicts spread, relief and celebration erupted. TommieMedia’s Justin Amaker, Sam Larson, Irene Shin and Leila Weah were there to capture the moment.
