John Tschida: Hall of fame coach
Tschida was inducted into the Saint Mary’s University Hall of Fame in August and will be inducted into the 2011 class of Mancini’s Hall of Fame, which honors those who started their sports careers in St. Paul.
Softball wins eighth consecutive MIAC playoff championship
The Tommies won the MIAC playoff championships for the eighth consecutive year after beating the Gustavus Gusties 10-2 Saturday afternoon. The Tommies advance to the NCAA tournament for the 14th time in the last 15 years.
‘Livin’ in Color’ week ends with talent show and open mic night
The Coalition of Multicultural Organizations ended its “Livin’ in Color” week with two events Friday night. The first was a talent show called “Celebrating Differences,” which included different forms of entertainment, including singing, dancing, rapping and even an eating contest.
Engineering students present senior design projects
Senior engineering students showcased design projects they have been working on for about eight months.
Softball wins both games, in pursuit of MIAC title
Senior pitchers Cassie Smith and Biz Sitzmann allowed only one combined run over a two-game span as the top-seeded St. Thomas softball team (38-4) defeated fourth-seed Hamline 7-0 and second-seed Gustavus 3-1 at home Friday afternoon in the MIAC playoffs.

Choirs say farewell to seniors in spring concert
Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Festival Choir and Alumni Choir members performed at the spring concert in the St. Thomas Chapel Thursday night.
Braunig, Archer jump into conference meet
Freshman Nick Braunig and senior Teddy Archer both set personal records with their jumps and qualified for the conference meet. For Archer, a member of the DIII national championship basketball team, it was a strong showing in his first track meet ever.
