Senior forward Ali Johnson’s game-high and career-best 24 points guided the St. Thomas women’s basketball team to an 87-60 victory over No. 1-ranked Amherst College in the NCAA tournament consolation game Saturday.

Three St. Thomas pitchers combined for 20 strikeouts as the baseball team swept the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Tuesday afternoon at the Metrodome. The Tommies held on to win a close 3-1 first game and won second game against the Titans 6-1.

Junior guard Kellie Ring made two free throws with 15 seconds left after a key steal, and No.10-ranked St. Thomas held off Tufts, 50-47, in the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 basketball game Friday.

Art gallery displays Asmat identity, culture

The Asmat Art Gallery has found a special place in the Anderson Student Center. The exhibition displays art from the Asmat culture in Papua, Indonesia, including photographs, carvings, weavings and video.

St. Thomas Chamber Singers will perform a piece a Mexican composer Jorge Cozatl wrote for the choir’s March 9 and 10 concert at Orchestra Hall. He has been working with the choir since October on a piece title “Pasar la Vida.” Listen to the song here.
