University to offer two new global history courses
One course is called the Middle East and North Africa in global perspective. The other class, East Asian civilizations in global perspective, will be an in-depth look at China, Japan or Korea, depending on when the course is offered.
Course recommendation program won’t be used at St. Thomas
Some colleges have started using online programs that recommend a course based on a student’s grades and intended major and how other students performed in the class.

No Study Monday this fall during finals week
The change will push the original Study Monday to Thursday, Dec. 15, instead. Classes will end Wednesday, Dec. 14, and finals will begin Thursday night and continue Friday. Finals week will finish the following Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Anderson Student Center to feature Asmat art gallery
When the Anderson Student Center opens in January, the gallery, which will be located on the second floor, will display about 2,000 works of Asmat art from a remote town in southwestern New Guinea.

Unseasonal snowfall doesn’t affect too many on-campus activities
An Opus construction worker said crews planned to “just keep right on working.” Wednesday’s home baseball game against Augsburg was rescheduled to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at home due to the weather, but the football team is still planning to hold an outdoor practice tonight.
Students create Native American club for greater presence on campus
Sophomore Gabriel Benedict said he started the service-oriented club with professor Elizabeth Wilkinson to create a greater Native American presence on campus.
