Easton takes third at NCAA swimming and diving championships

Junior Jennifer Easton took third in the 1-meter dive and earned All-American honors at the NCAA swimming and diving championships. Senior Becca Ney placed 42nd in the 100 free, and sophomore Sam Rauchwarter took 39th in the 100 free.

Junior Jennifer Easton placed third in the 1-meter dive, while sophomore Sam Rauchwarter finished 24th in the men’s 200 free and senior Becca Ney failed to advance in the women’s 50 free and women’s 200 free.

St. Thomas will take on Middlebury College, which won the New England Small College Athletic Conference championship and is 28-1 this season, Friday in Salem, Va.

This year the pool of tournament teams has been expanded from 65 to 68 teams. The first-round teams competed Tuesday and Wednesday, while the rest of the tournament begins this weekend.
