Government center crowd celebrates verdicts

A crowd of hundreds celebrated outside of Hennepin County Government Center following news that former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd last summer. Leading up to the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial, tensions and anticipation were high at 38th Street and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, the site where George Floyd died beneath the knee of the former Minneapolis officer.
