2010 Tommie Award nominee: Clare Naughton

Clare Naughton.JPGClare Naughton, international studies major, renaissance program minor, 3.50 GPA

Naughton is from St. Paul. Her main activities at St. Thomas include being on the crew team, helping with events for Students for Justice and Peace, working as a Catholic Studies Intern and working for Residence Life.

This past summer, Naughton completed a Young Scholars Grant on human trafficking in the Twin Cities.

Naughton said an interesting fact about herself is that she is currently living in Cairo, which she calls “a spectacular and intoxicating city.” As a freshman, she wishes she had known “to take Arabic as my second language.”

After graduation, Naughton plans to spend her summer studying for the GRE while doing an AmeriCorps Education Award program. Beyond that, she said her plans are “still a bit hazy, but generally revolve around paying back loans and discerning career paths and grad schools.”
