Mathiowetz is from Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She has been involved on campus as the vice president of programming for Residence Hall Association, an Aquinas Scholars member, treasurer of Phi Alpha Honors Society for Social Work, a peer advisor for the Study Abroad Office, a Tommie Ambassador and tour guide for Admissions and a Residence Life student worker.

Mathiowetz said one of her greatest memories at St. Thomas was seeing the campus erupt with joy at the announcement of Pope Francis’ papal inaguration in 2013. She will always remember being united with all of the Catholic students at St. Thomas during that celebration.

She is a die-hard Minnesota Twin fans and is passionate about spreading the love of the Twins with family and friends. Her dream job would be to work for the team. She is hoping to start off her career after graduation working for a nonprofit or somewhere where she can help others.

Every day is Tommie Tuesday for Mathiowetz, as an estimated 75% of her belongings are purple. She enjoys wearing her favorite color and showing Tommie pride every day of the week with her purple backpack and bright purple winter coat.

One of her favorite things about St. Thomas is the size. Mathiowetz loves walking through the Anderson Student Center and greeting people from the different areas of her life. Her greatest accomplishment at St. Thomas has been spending time and effort putting herself out there and meeting new people.
