Simmet is the co-president of the nonprofit club Students Today Leaders Forever and is a four-year starter on the St. Thomas football team.

One of aspects he enjoys most about St. Thomas is the quality relationships he has created with people in differing areas across campus, from the football team and service groups to the guys on his floor freshman year who have impacted his life. Simmet hopes his greatest achievement is the lasting impact he has made on their lives.

Simmet is passionate about helping others, creating a better future and giving himself to the greater good. He wants to pursue these passions in the future by becoming the best husband, father and leader of men possible.

For fun, Simmet enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, reading financial news and playing football. If he could have a superpower, Simmet would like the ability to not require sleep so he could accomplish more tasks and stay awake 24/7.

One of his favorite memories at St. Thomas has been representing St. Thomas on a national scale by playing in the Stagg Bowl, the NCAA Division III football championship, during his freshman year. Simmet said his theme song is “Comeback Kid” by Brett Dennen because it brings back great memories with friends and sends the message of never giving up, which has been very important during his college career.
