With a four-game lead in the conference and the team’s fifth-straight MIAC title already in the bag, St. Thomas men’s basketball still had some business to tend to with Gustavus Wednesday night.

The Gusties had handed the Tommies its only conference loss Jan. 13 in St. Peter. But the MIAC’s hottest shooting team was a blistering 57 percent from the field on senior night as St. Thomas stomped Gustavus 75-51 at the Gangelhoff Center at Concordia University.

As if on cue, seniors Joe Scott and Sam Eicher dominated and led the team with 14 points a piece. Juniors Tyler Nicolai and Alex Healy both scored nine points as sophomore Peter Leslie chipped in seven.

The men’s basketball team finishes up its regular season at Hamline Saturday and starts the MIAC playoffs Feb. 25.
