An intoxication incident, a Flynn fire alarm and more in this week’s public safety briefs

On February 20 at 11:53 a.m. Public Safety documented a motor vehicle accident off campus in Minneapolis. A St. Thomas student reported striking another vehicle while driving a University-owned van.

On February 19 at 8:29 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical incident in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student who had a seizure was transported to an area hospital for advanced medical care.

On February 19 at 9:30 a.m. Public Safety documented a motor vehicle accident in the R3 level of the Morrison Hall parking garage. A St. Thomas employee unintentionally backed into a fencepost while driving a University-owned vehicle.

On February 19 at 12:23 p.m. Public Safety documented a medical incident in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A St. Thomas employee sustained a head injury after slipping and falling on standing water on the floor.

On February 19 at 11:03 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to dating violence in Morrison Hall. A guest in a dating relationship with a St. Thomas student assaulted the student, was trespassed from university property and transported to an area hospital for suicidal ideation.

On February 18 at 12:52 a.m. Public Safety, Residence Life, the St. Paul Police Department, and the St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical incident in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage intoxicated guest with alcohol poisoning was transported to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On February 18 at 8:35 p.m. Public Safety responded to a fire system activation in Flynn Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student admitted to setting off a localized alarm while using an electronic cigarette in violation of St. Thomas policy.

On February 17 at 1:09 p.m. Public Safety responded to a welfare check on Cretin Avenue. An intoxicated individual, reported to be unsafely walking into traffic, was found and asked to leave the area.

On February 17 at 1:50 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical incident in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. An unconscious, intoxicated guest was transported to an area hospital for advanced medical care.

On February 16 at 2:06 a.m. Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation outside the Anderson Athletic & Recreation Complex. Two underage St. Thomas students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. One of the students was significantly intoxicated and talked about suicidal ideation.

On February 16 at 3:29 a.m. Public Safety and Residence Life responded to suspicious activity in the Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A St. Thomas employee reported a person sleeping inside one of the building’s entryways. The person was subsequently determined to be an underage intoxicated St. Thomas student found in possession of a fictitious driver’s license and alcoholic beverages.

On February 16 at 9:38 a.m. Public Safety responded to intimidation in Owens Science Hall. A St. Thomas employee reported a reckless statement made by a St. Thomas student towards a St. Thomas employee.

On February 14 at 11:24 p.m. Public Safety documented an assault that occurred at an unknown off-campus location in Washington County. Several St. Thomas students reported escalating welfare concerns for a St. Thomas student who caused a head injury to a friend.

On February 12 at 6:03 p.m. Public Safety assisted the Title IX office with documenting a sexual assault that occurred at an off-campus location in St. Paul. An underage St. Thomas student reported being raped while very intoxicated.

On February 11 at 12:49 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical incident in LOT G. A highly intoxicated St. Thomas young alumnus was transported to an area hospital for advanced medical care.
