Federal investigators say BNSF railroad is analyzing a section of fractured rail after last month’s fiery derailment that prompted evacuations in southwest Minnesota.

The national transportation safety board issued its preliminary report Tuesday, on the March 30 derailment that forced about eight-hundred people from their homes in Raymond, Minnesota, after ten ethanol cars derailed and caught fire.

Fox News agreed Tuesday to pay Dominion voting systems nearly $800 million in a settlement over election claims.

The stunning settlement emerged just as opening statements were set to begin.

The deal is a significant amount of money, even for a company the size of Fox. It represents about a quarter of the $2.9 billion the company reported earning last year before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization — a figure often used to approximate a company’s cash flow.

India is on track to become the world’s most populous nation, and will surpass China by mid 2023, according to data released Wednesday by the UN.

China has had the world’s largest population since at least 1950, the year the UN began issuing population data.

Both China and India have more than 1.4 billion people, and combined they make up more than a third of the world’s eight billion people.
