In episode six of The Medium, Reid Neeser and Maddie Peters talk with St. Thomas student Kayley Isaacson about her art and St. Thomas’ theater club. They discuss the history and impact of YouTube, along with listing some of their favorite channels and catching up with the latest news in arts and entertainment. Listen to the podcast here.

Alex Hernandez-Siegel, the new director of Student Diversity and Inclusion services will begin his “year of listening” to find out what is working at St. Thomas and what he can build on in terms of student diversity and inclusion.

Hernandez-Siegel said St. Thomas’ diversity and inclusion initiatives are more extensive than he’s seen at other colleges, and he intends to work with not only diversity and inclusion, but also on building student leadership skills and confidence to have conversations surrounding inclusion.

His last job was a Chaplain to the College and Associate Dean of Students at Colorado College. Prior to that, he worked at Harvard and Dartmouth College, where he worked on diversity and inclusion. A storm that already affected Thanksgiving travel across much of the country threatened to dump a foot and a half of snow on parts of the East, leading governments to close schools and offices, canceling or delaying hundreds of flights, and sending an army of salt trucks scrambling to coat roads.

One round of snow appeared in parts of the region late Sunday and the storm could drop 10 to 20 inches total by Tuesday morning from Pennsylvania to Maine, forecasters said. Heavy snow was also expected in the Appalachian Mountains down to Tennessee and North Carolina.
