The humanitarian conditions in Gaza grow even more dire, as more than 80% of Gaza’s population has been displaced from their homes. 

The UN’s human rights chief Volker Turk is demanding an immediate ceasefire, saying, “Palestinians are living in utter deepening horror, as an immediate step I call for an urgent cessation of hostilities and the release of all hostages.”

Time Magazine has named Taylor Swift this year’s Time Person of the Year with her very popular Eras Tour and having a movie about herself to reimagine her 1989 album. She was able to beat some tough competition, including Barbie and open AI chief executive Sam Altman. 

This Tuesday the Senate approved 425 military promotions after a month-long blockade by Senator Tuberville of Alabama, over a Pentagon abortion policy. 

President Joe Biden says, “In the end, this was all pointless. Senator Tuberville and the Republicans who stood with him needlessly hurt hundreds of service members and military families and threatened our national security, all to push a partisan agenda. I hope no one forgets what he did.”
