President-elect Joe Biden’s victory has essentially been locked in under federal law following the safe harbor deadline Tuesday.

Every state other than Wisconsin has appeared to meet the safe harbor deadline. Congress has to accept the electoral votes that will be cast next week.

President electors will gather in state capitals on December 14 and by the end of the day every state is expected to have official election results.

Minneapolis City Council members who unsuccessfully aimed to dismantle the Minneapolis police department are now voting on whether or not to shrink it.

These efforts are in response to George Floyd’s death and under a plan titled “Safety for All,” the latest version of the original “defund the police.”

The mayor is threatening to use his veto to protect public safety amid soaring crime rates.

Eleven of the 13 council members have already cast committee votes in favor of the largest parts of the plan.

This majority signals that passage is likely.

Wisconsin has set new restrictions for bars and restaurants following increasingly large weekend crowds and a fatal stabbing in Hudson, Wisc..

New restrictions include a 10 p.m. curfew for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, voted on unanimously by the Hudson Common Council.

The ordinance applies to all establishments that sell liquor for on-site consumption and will be in effect beginning Dec. 11 through Jan. 3, 2021.

Authorities think the influx of visitors correlates to Minnesota’s ban on indoor restaurant and bar service because of the coronavirus pandemic.
