Extreme winter weather is hitting over 100 million people in the U.S. today. A polar vortex has left at least 20 people dead and millions more without power.

Texas, which prides itself on energy independence, is dealing with nearly 3 million residents who are without power in freezing temperatures.

Minnesota is expected to administer its one millionth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine this week.

Over 12% of Minnesota’s population has had at least one dose, and over 4% are fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Gov. Tim Walz plans to lay out a strategy later today to bring more middle and high school students to in-person classes.

St. Thomas junior Josh Wagner ran 100 miles in 30 days, raising $700 to combat human trafficking.

Wagner had to run over a 5K every day, reaching the 100-mile mark Feb 6. The non-profit Wagner worked with, Venture Miles, estimates that $3 is enough to care for a trafficking victim.
