Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson will meet in a runoff to be the next mayor of Chicago after voters denied incumbent Lori Lightfoot a second term, issuing a rebuke to a leader who made history as head of the nation’s third-largest city.

Opponents blamed Lightfoot for an increase in crime that occured in cities across the U.S. during the pandemic and criticized her as being a divisive, overly contentious leader.
She is the first elected Chicago mayor to lose a reelection bid since 1983

TikTok said Wednesday that every account held by a user under the age of 18 will have a default 60-minute daily screen time limit in the coming weeks. The changes arrive during a period in which there are growing concerns among different governments about the app’s security.

Families have struggled with limiting the amount of time their children spend on the Chinese-owned video sharing app.

Community opposition over the city of St. Paul’s draft plan for the proposed Summit Avenue Regional trial has continued to grow over concerns of safety, parking, and possible tree loss.

Some Summit residents and community members are also concerned that the trail’s construction could result in changes to the street’s historic boulevard.

The 90% draft outlines the city’s proposed plan to create a regional trail within the curb of the street, replacing the bike lanes that currently run on Summit Avenue.
